Tonight we held our first Friends of Mitchell Creek Land-care meeting at Palmerston Library Community Room. First we heard from Chantal Bramley, the Top End Co-ordinator of the NT Natural Resources Management (NRM) Board about their current role, the NRM Review and the availability of the current Caring for Country community action grants. Finally we discussed the re-activating of the Land-care group and agreed to set up an interim group to handle the required immediate actions.
The Palmerston Sun assisted us by promoting our meeting via a very large headline on its front page – and then a more detailed story on page 3 promoting our public meeting on the 25/7/10 as well! Thanks to Susie Bertie of Top End Orienteering (TEO) who gave us a plug in their newsletter and thanks to Conor Bryne, the journalist who followed up the TEO story and who gave us such great publicity.
that’s it from me for now!!
